May Finishes

These book or journal pen holders are gifts for members of my book club. When I first thought of this idea, I looked on Google and of course someone else had already thought of it. Isn't that the way it goes? But none of them were quite what I wanted, so I ended up making my own pattern anyway. These are cheap and easy to make, have no velcro pieces or buckles to add bulk, and fit any size reading book, from a paperback to a hardbound.

Two down, ten to go!

May Check-In

Jingle Bells dear Elves ... I hope everyone is managing just a little towards their Christmas goodies.

With our lives still being upturned without a moments notice, it's now more than ever that we should focus on our family, friends and most importantly, our selves.

A finish for April

I have not managed to do nearly what I wanted to get done towards Christmas by now....

However I did get this stitchery stitched up and this week quilted it and then stapled onto a purchased canvas.....

It was a fun one to do....

Thanks to Narelle and all of you for the encouragement... I love seeing what you do aswell.....

APRiL

... is almost over so I made this post just in time this month.
A little pouch with lovely words embroidered on the front.
Thanks Narelle for hosting this little group...

April Finish

Finally i have a finish to show. The last couple of months has been a big upheaval with moving house & getting settled. I've had these little baubles prepped for quite a long while & have finally got around to making them up.

Happy Stitching,

I'm late with March, mainly because I just finished.

I decided to use orphan blocks on the front and Christmas fabric on the back to make gift exchange bags. I also made a drawstring bag just for fun.

March Finish

My first Santa Snack Mat for the Grandies.  I have one more to make for Christmas 2021.

Still sewing

Well, I don't know if this will be a Christmas present for a niece or someone else. It is the outer cover of a little sewing case. I'm making the case up as I go along I started the outer sewing on a day course with Angela Daymond. She designs a lot of Kantha projects and is a lovely teacher.

I have also been knitting socks as that is easier for my eyes. I hope to get to the opticians after my second jab. Fine work is out, too many headaches and having to stop frequently.

Happy sewing

March: Christmas Flurries

How is everyone's list going?
I have a big finish for March and I'm not sure
where, or to whom, it will be going but it will
definitely be coming out for the holidays!

"Christmas Flurries" (71x71)

I am not a fan of the paper-piece quilting method
but I do love anything with snow and snowflakes
so when I came across this pattern I thought,
Oh why not?

A few weeks into it, I knew all-too-well why not
but I persisted for a few more weeks and I can
now share with you the result.  It's easier to
say now that I'm very glad I chose this one!

I have no idea what I'll be working on for my
next Christmas item but I'll be seeing you all
back here in April with...uh....something!
(Something simpler!!)

March Madness

My gorgeous little family have moved back to their own lives and my home is super quiet now. So the knitting came out of hiding and I finished off this wash cloth.

Happy March makes everyone 🎄

A BaG

This roomy & open bag will be great for keeping/carrying projects in then being able to FiND any item inside.
I think it will make a great gift for Christmas too.
Now I call that a WiN WiN situation...
If you want the BAG details...

I'm late, I'm late.....

My covid vaccine knocked me out of action for a week. Then the weather slightly improved and I concentrated getting some seeds sewn and my allotment prepped ready for the growing season. Not a lot of time to sew but I did enjoy this Gum Drop Tree.  I have taken liberties with the embellishments, to suit my supplies.

I need to get cracking on this months whilst we have a couple of drizzly days.

I also need to catch up on all the other February additions.

Happy sewing
