Christmas in July

Merry Christmas in July to all our busy little elves. Life seems to have been extra busy for many this year and we all seem to put our sewing and creating to the bottom of the 'to do' list ... me included. With my daughters wedding coming up in early September (less than 6 weeks away - eeeek!) hubby and I are busy outdoors when we can to make the place look spic and span for the ceremony here at home.

Christmas in July for our little local sewing group meant some last minute sewing for some. The challenge was to make our 12 1/2" blocks from our 2014 Christmas swap into a finished project to show and tell. This photo is a collection of the completed items from those who were able to attend.

Did anyone else have celebrations/outings for July? Perhaps you would like to share.

Even though we're a little quiet here in the workshop, I hope you can find a little 'crafty' time and stitch away at those long term projects or add that finishing touch to a smaller item. There's still plenty of time to add to your gift stash and spread the handmade joy at Christmas.

Narelle, what an adorable group of projects! The upcoming wedding sounds so exciting! As for outings/celebrations in July... we celebrated the life of my husband's 97-year-old grandfather. He was dearly loved. And we had visitors come from out of state and from overseas. The last 2 weeks of July were full of outings. We visited Saturday Market in Portland, Oregon. The coastal towns of Cannon Beach and Florence. The Sea Lion Caves. Silver Falls State Park. Oregon State University in Corvallis. July was busy making treasured memories. Now I need to get on the ball and make some gifts from the heart. :)
