My April item

It seems that I have spent more time knitting this month than sewing. The mittens below are now in the gift box. The winters here need warm clothes, so I hope these will warm someone hands.
Have a nice day/evening!

April Project

Well, at least the beginning of the April project. It is the first part of a larger cross stitch piece with a Scandinavian Christmas theme.

Tissue-Pack Covers

Tissue-Pack Covers - Tops
This month, I created 3 tissue-pack covers. The two on the right will be gifts and the one on the left will be for me because I adore the snowman fabric!

Tissue-Pack Covers - Bottoms
I discovered this super easy, free Better Homes and Garden pattern here on Pinterest.

I also managed a bit of progress on my Santa and the Mouse ornament. (This retired, free pattern from Heaven and Earth Designs is a smaller section of this chart.)

Popping In For April

Good Morning everyone :o)

Great to see the lovely gift and decoration ideas being shared this month.  I have so many new projects to add to my list ... if only I could be gifted some spare time.  If you're feeling just a little bit naughty for not being able to share a make ... don't let it worry you because I'm afraid this little elf is in the naughty corner with you ... so we can encourage each other and our turn will come :o)

Thank you all for keeping our workshop a happy and crafty place to visit. I'm sure we all love to see the beautiful gifts/decorations making their way into storage ready for a Merry Christmas 2015.

I have my gorgeous grandson visiting this weekend and nap time is over so must dash.

April finishes

Finished more ornies for the wreath but have taken a little break from the wreath

Next finish is a redwork stitchery from Natalie Bird, Making Spirits Bright
Happy Stitching,

My April 1Xiam

I made this for my grandsons. How cute is this.
They still need Santa to come to them but they don't have a chimney.
This solves the problem.
So I have now done my Xmas item for April.

For ApriL

I added two tea towels to the box this month.
I usually wrap one around a box/tin of biscuits... or chockies & it turns an ordinary gift into something a little special.
It's nice to give them away to associates.
Thanks Narelle... this is a marvellous group for encouraging me to make a gift each month.

Here is the second block in my Michelle Ridgway hexagon table runner. Stitched in DMC thread 347.
This joins the snowman block from last month.
Thank you Narelle for hosting. Happy Sewing till next month.

Tote Bag and Cross Stitch Progress

I made this bag as a Christmas gift and it was also a part of the Tree Bird Blog Hop at Sew We Quilt.  I followed this tutorial
(If you decide to make one, please note the tutorial does not tell you where to place the pocket or straps,
so I centered the pocket about 2 inches from the top of the fabric
and lined the outer edges of the straps with the pocket.)
I crazy quilted the pocket.

I hoped to make a second gift, but spent most of my free time working on this long term Christmas project. (The photo above shows progress through March 25th. This was a free chart at Heaven and Earth Designs that is no longer available, but it is a small section of this larger chart.) I hope to make significant progress by next month.
