Just in time ...

I buy new tea towels for Christmas every year, so I thought that I would make my own to use in December. The bird appliqué is a bit wonky but with enough pudding, brandy sauce and additional brandy, it will straighten up very quickly.

Might go back to the drawing board …
( The bird pattern was found on the "All People Quilt" web site)

Instead of...

Am I the last one to post? Sorry, but the Scandinavian X-mas block didn't turn out to be what I meant it to be. So yesterday I stitched this little item instead. It is a Christmas freebee from The Primitive Hare.

I didn't like the result of the x stitches, although they are probably meant to be so, because it's a stitchery. So I bought new linen, but I have to make a drawing, because I had to make more xxx than the pattern has. So I must have time to do that.

Happy X-mas stitching for March everybody!

A Good Start...

Wow, there are so many great items being posted here by everyone... what a great source of inspiration! I spent an evening last week stitching the first of the stitcheries for my 'Tis The Season'; I can tell I am really going to enjoy stitching these as the year progresses...
 Happy Christmas Stitching!

My February item

This little wall hanging is my contribute this month. I have had the pattern since 2009! Finally I have made it.

a finish for February

I can't beleive I passed the date to post this as I had it finished a while back , oh well better late than never I guess . I had received a newsletter from the Bunny Hill blog and this pattern was a freebie and I just had to start right away , it was just too cute to wait .
My Believe pillow has now been packed away until next Christmas , it was such fun to make , I used wool for the snowman applique just for the fun of it . I will have to say I had a difficult time making those letters wonky , I wanted to straigten them out but that is how the pattern was designed :-)
 Happy Stitching ,

February 1 Xmas item

I didn't manage to make anything for Christmas this month (struggling +++) but I did do some more work on my Anni Downs "A Christmas Story" blocks. I'm finding the needle turn applique quite a challenge but I refuse to give up on it!

February Items

So glad I chose to 'keep it simple sweetie' ........ just until I have my other WIP's done and dusted!  I am however, so looking forward to the more involved stitcheries I will add to my collection of Christmas Trees!

Here is Christmas Tree 2 finished ...

Christmas Tree 3 is just a simple little tree, but look carefully and you will spot two little birds and two reindeer!

And this is Christmas Tree 4 in progess ... loving the white stitching on dark blue Aida. Not much more to do, and then on to Tree 5!

Till 25th March
Keep the spirit of Christmas alive and happy stitching

My February 1 Xmas Item

Here is my Christmas finish for February. Last year my friend Michelle Ridgway asked me to stitch along with her on a new project she was working on.  Several people stitched along and the tops have all turned out differently as we used our own colour scheme to complete it. I chose a Cottage Garden Thread called Mistletoe to stitch mine and added some Nancy Halvorsen fabrics to finish it off.
A Holly Jolly Gathering is the name of the pattern. I have made it into a wall quilt by adding a hanging sleeve. Till next month. Happy Xmas Stitching............. Noela.

a day late but i'm here. :)

I didn't get to my item until yesterday but it's made & i'm happy. A bit fiddly but i love it.
I'm going to try & make more of the shapes soon & make Xmas trees with them. Or maybe just leave the shape on it's own to hang. & i have block 2 of A Merry Christmas Garden done.

Happy Stitching,

Babushka stocking

I found at an opshop a patchwork panel with six of these Xmas stockings ready to be cut out and made up.  I didn't really want to make them all into stockings, so I've got other plans for three of them.  But I didn't have time for that bigger project, so I just made up one stocking for my February project.  It is lined with plain white cotton fabric.  Some time before Christmas I would like to embellish this a bit, with sequins, buttons, ric rac, or whatever will work best.

Michell's February 1 Xmas Item A Month

This month I have made a Xmas tag designed by Marg Low called "Deer Tree". This was a very quick to stitch up and was completed over two nights. I stitched up the Christmas Tree pattern this time.

pin parking...........................

I can now show this pincushion I made for a friend for christmas, but we have only this month exchanged presents. At one of my visits to my friend Julie, (who by the way has a delightful little shop that never disappoints!) I saw a pincushion similar to this, made by one of her friends. Made from one wooden coffee mug stand, one round cake tin, felted wool & embellishments. I had much fun painting, sanding & creating!

To see something else made from wool felt, please visit my blog, you will also see that rabbit's prefer Chocolate!!

Another great month, time to see what everyone else has revealed.

Happy creating!

One little ornie.....

Just one teensy weensy little ornie for my 1 Christmas Item this month.  But I will be doing more of these - it was very quick to make.

I got the idea after seeing this on Pinterest..
