No excuse, I've just been MIA but a quick project yesterday afternoon and feel like I could just be getting back on track with this little drawstring gift bag.
Thank you to the lovely elves who have been sewing away in our workshop. Keep up the merriment ... we're almost there and Santa is checking his list.

Snowman Zipper Pouch
This month, I made another zipper pouch using the YouTube tutorial by the Missouri Star Quilt Company.
This is the front side.
And this is the back.
I just love this snowman print. I wish I could remember the name of the fabric. It sparkles with glitter.
It's hard to believe Christmas is a little less than 4 months away.
Wishing you all very productive workshop time in September.

A Zipper Pouch
This zipper pouch will be added to my gift box this month.
It was created with a crazy quilt block I made in 2013 and finally finished off. It features a cross-stitched house that was part of the "Cozy Winter Twilight" pattern in the Stoney Creek Country Living Collection booklet and some of my 1st attempts at tutorials in Diana Lampe's book Embroidery for all Seasons.
I am afraid I only added 1 seam to the stocking I am working on for my son this month. I hope to finish the embellishments in August.
Thank you so much for providing the Workshop for us, Narelle. The motivation it provides - especially with Christmas sneaking up so quickly - is appreciated.

Crazy Quilt Stocking
This month I made progress on a crazy quilt stocking for my eldest son.
The first addition was "Magical Ride" from the Stoney Creek Collection: Cool Friends Book 211. I stitched the mirror image of the chart so it would better fit a patch on the stocking. I used waste canvas to keep the stitches even. It was my first time using Kreinik Blending Filament. To be honest, it seemed a bit like embroidering with Christmas tree tinsel. I love pizazz it added. It was also my first time using a Turkey Stitch to make the fringes at the end of the scarf.
This is the pieced stocking prior to embellishment.
In my last update, I thought my Sun, Sand, and Sea BOM would be a Christmas gift project. However, I learned that the BOM goes through next February. That means it will be a birthday gift instead, so the updates will not be shared here in the workshop.
There are only 6 months until Christmas, so I need to get busy. (So many plans, so little time...) -Renee

New Project
Nothing like the feeling of a new project ... do I have lots of "started projects"? YES 😆 I always have something I feel like working on ... or that's my excuse.
This one is 'A Holly Cottage Christmas' by Michelle Ridgway and is for a Stitch-a-long group. Lots of inspiration to keep at it! and I can share each month in our workshop 😊 So far I've been doing lots of prep and need to quickly finish the applique/stitching for the first block.

In JuNe
This months item is another little gift bag. This time the embroidery is "Candles" which I coloured in, but the bag pattern is the same.
I have now added it to the gift box so I am in good shape for Xmas.
Thanks Narelle for the encouragement to make a gift / item each month.

May from Me.....
I have dug out a couple of things from the UFO cupboard this month....
These little pouches are going to be perfect for some little treats.... Anni Downs design and her fabric at the back.... I think I'd like to do some more of these....
This is a Michelle Ridgeway stitchery design that I have had for some time.... I still have a bit of my favourite trees fabric so I used that for the borders....
... and I am continuing with my banner stitcheries.....
So that's my Christmas sewing this month.... looking forward to seeing yours!!
