Christmas making in July

Ducking into the Workshop
for just a moment to show my "made"
for this month.

A non-traditional mini
with some yummy Aussie flavour :)
Hopefully I will make it back in a few days to read up on
what everyone else has been up to for July :)

Stitching for May :)

Gosh the end of May came out of nowhere!

I made a big push forwards working on this year's bigger project,
and then a giant leap backwards when I realised,
after I had pieced all the blocks,
that the seam allowance was wrong,
so er none of that to show this month :(

Fortunately after last month's post
I had continued on some stitching
utilising a dash of diligence
that showed up out of nowhere
so I can show
the rest of Gail Pan's Wishes bom stitcheries have been completed

These have been such fun to stitch :)

Wishing you a cheerily festive June :)

Almost missed April!

Gosh it's quiet in the Workshop this month!

For me was only when I saw Narelle's post that I realised
yep, the 25th means 1 Xmas post time.

It's a bit tricky thinking
about Christmas in April for us here in Australia.
On the 25th my head was full of the other National 'occasion'.

On the plus side,
it has meant getting this post together has been a
lovely light ending to the month.
After all, the bravery we honour is about respect for the lives we get to live
due to their sacrifices.
I reckon that absolutely includes the joy making Christmassy things :)

This month I have been working on
the other progressive project planned for this year.

A mini quilt for March

I bought myself a smallish Christmas tree last year
since all my full-grown Christmas stuff is still in storage,
and I'd had enough of not having a tree up :)

It's one of those fibre optic ones,
really pretty lights :)
However it also has this awful ugly pot
at it's base, yuk!

Now I have a proper little tree quilt
ready for this Christmas
(less than nine months away! eek)
It's about 23" across,
and all from scraps, yay :)

Very Beary February Finish

This month is a decoration-y item.

A from-a-long-time-ago pattern,
coloured in, stitched,
and made into a fabric canvas :)
Confession: It is only pinned presently.
I need to cut the batting to back the stitchery
before I tack it properly,
and this hasn't been a good week
for me to handle sharp objects ;)

Which is also why I am posting
at what seems like the last minute.
I was still hoping I would get a "safe" day ;)

What lovely finishes have been posted this month :)

See you again in (hopefully) 25 days :)

Starting small and sweet

Hello fellow Elves!
Happy New Year to you!
It's so lovely to be back in the Workshop,
and gosh haven't some of you started off well!

I've begun the year small
some more stitched reindeer

to be part of (hopefully) another large-ish project this year

Though these new reindeer are quite itty as you can see :)
I'm well underway for February's item too!
I am determined to be properly present and correct here this year :)

Before I go I must show my other big-ish finish from last year.
It's been the site of many naps during December :)
Thank you so much Narelle for taking on the Head Elf job again!
And thanks for letting me back into the Workshop ;)

November's Finish

November is a big item month.

My 2015 longer-term item is finished
and before Christmas
oh my :)

Okay so I'm a day late posting about it.
Quibble, quibble, lol

You've seen stitched reindeer
and a paling fence that took way longer than expected
so are you ready to see
where they are now?

I hope so.

And I hope you won't be disappointed!

My
craZy 8 cHristMas quiLt
It's simple piecing,
 and
the quilting (done by me)
is simple too
Random straight lines through the blocks
then some curved lines over the seams
(just for insurance ;) )

I am so pleased it has been finished this year :)
Thank you so much Narelle for this fantastic workshop
and also thanks to all the other friendly elves
whose encouragement and support
means so many of our
short AND long-term Chrismassy goals can be achieved :)

May your Christmas to-do-list be full of bright and bold ticks :)

A cushion for September :)

Yep an actual finish this month :)
Bit late cos I had some temporary malfunctions in my sewing ability
ie I initially messed up the zip slightly ;)

Santa in his train
have become a shiny
and very bright
cushion :)
Thanks Narelle for your continued encouragement
to get Christmassy items finished ahead of Christmas :)

May you all have many ticks off your Christmassy makings list :)
