A finish for April

I have not managed to do nearly what I wanted to get done towards Christmas by now....

However I did get this stitchery stitched up and this week quilted it and then stapled onto a purchased canvas.....

It was a fun one to do....

Thanks to Narelle and all of you for the encouragement... I love seeing what you do aswell.....

Fiona in January

Hello fellow elves, or elvesses, or elvines,

Is elf male or female or both?    I wonder... doesn't matter really - it was just a random thought I had....

Anyway... hello again.... I am going to try and work on something Christmassy each month.... I haven't done well the last couple of years and then it's a mad rush, and I do have some lovely Christmas projects I want to do...

These are the decorations I made last year.... the ones I sent (early) to UK have only just started arriving... I guess the Grinch did take their Christmas... they all had to stay at home on their own this year....  but I think they got some January smiles with the cheeky grin of the grinch....

My first Christmas project I worked on this year is this Annie Downs wallhanging... I did the applique and embroidery and still need to make up the blocks and borders.....

This was a kit I have had languishing in my drawers for a few years.....

... I want to do a decoration each month too.... it hasn't happened this month but I have decided what I will make... and with what.....

I'm sure that counts for something and I will try and make 2 in February to catch up.....

This is another Christmas project I have started.....  It is a Katy Dawson (from Cottage Garden Threads) design and a pattern I was given some years back.... quite a lot of stitching to do and I am doing a bit of it in between applique projects...

Sooooo...... my year has started with lots of Christmas plans.....

Thanks Narelle and everyone else for the motivation to keep going.... and even though its only January its fun to do Christmas things.....

a year in advance!!

I had originally planned to make one snowman heart a month..... but I got a bit ahead of myself...

I think I will need a special tree to put these on... they are fun

It is a free design from Bunny Hill Designs (but now on squares not hearts)

I have also done this Christmas stitchery....  It could be a tray cloth or a wallhanging... we shall see

I have a few Christmas projects kitted up so plenty more still to do.

Keep well and safe, and smiling..... I hope you are all doing okay ... everything feels odd and I'm not sure which day is which most of the time

March.... also maybe February...

I didn't have my act together last month.... but …...

3 more snowmen have been stitched...

they will be made into the hearts but I will do that at the end when they are all stitched....

... bunny hill designs and they are pretty cute....

These are all the ones I have done to date.....

Righto, Gotto Go... I should prep up some more to work on....

Keep safe, keep stitching and keep smiling....

My Christmas sewing....

I am also working on the Bunny Hill Snowmen...

This month I did the applique and stitcheries for these 3:

So even though there is not a finished item I am happy that I have made progress on these.  I just find it easier to prepare a few at a time.... I will keep doing that and when they are all done have a machine sewing session and get them finished.

Thanks Narelle for hosting and encouraging to get some projects done for Christmas.....

Plans

Hello fellow elves...… and thanks Narelle for being chief whip elf again this year.... I certainly find it helps having a 'goal' ...

Well done for last year... especially those overachievers who did something EVERY month..... wonderful....

This year I want to make the sweet Bunny Hill ornaments

This is a free pattern found HERE though in squares, mine is in hearts which was given free a year or two ago.... basically the same though

I have chosen some fabric, and will try with the fleece fabric for the snowmen (hope it works okay) and today I printed out my patterns and made a template....

Will be fun to sew along with you....

Catching up

I have not managed to keep up with something each month but this month I worked on all three of these ornaments so that I could finish them off and put the box away!

I did do less stitching than recommended on the pattern - me getting impatient!!

Now it's not that long till Christmas.... scary stuff... it seems we just had the last one!

Keep on going with the Christmas stuff... it's always motivating ...xx

April

I have another ornament for this month.....

I'm glad of the reminders to get something made.... I will have a nice bundle of these to send off by the end of the year.

As has already been said the time seems to be going by so fast … thankfully these don't take me too long to make...

Righto, Gotto Go..... I wonder which one I will choose to make for next month....

January

I was given this sweet kit a couple of years ago …..

All the felt and thread is provided with the pattern so I really have had no excuse not to make them

So my goal for the first 6 months is to make one ornament each month ….

I made this one last night …. once all the fiddly pieces are cut it doesn't take too long ….

Looking forward to seeing what you make!

May from Me.....

I have dug out a couple of things from the UFO cupboard this month....

These little pouches are going to be perfect for some little treats.... Anni Downs design and her fabric at the back....  I think I'd like to do some more of these....

This is a Michelle Ridgeway stitchery design that I have had for some time.... I still have a bit of my favourite trees fabric so I used that for the borders....

... and I am continuing with my banner stitcheries.....

So that's my Christmas sewing this month.... looking forward to seeing yours!!

March Christmas Item...

This month I finished off this wallhanging.  I have had the stitchery done and then found the perfect fabric for a border

( I went back to the shop but it had sold out - note to self - buy lots when you love it!!!)

I have also started a little banner of stitcheries..... these are two blocks towards it....

I've made this before and loved it - this time it will be for a gift

So there we go..... March is almost over - going so quick so it's great to get some Christmassy things done.  Thanks Narelle....

Just made it this month.....

Thanks Narelle for the motivation to get moving with my Christmas items....

I have a few Christmas UFO's so I'm starting off finishing them...

I quilted this runner with straight lines and matched the binding with the border....  There is a bit of wiggly quilting in the stitched area...

I love this cheerful runner..... I did the stitchery a few years ago....

.. perfect for on the table at Christmas time.....

Righto, Gotto Go... I've already chosen next months project - another UFO!!!

A bit late for the party.....

Hello, hello..... I'm late, I'm late but I hope I can go back in time and pretend it's January.  These are Christmas finishes I did in January....

Firstly I have this long table runner... It's designed by Libby Richardson and I love the cheeky reindeer on it.....

... the other things I did was turn these little 4" blocks into ornaments... they will be useful for sending out at the end of the year....

Take care everyone, Happy Sewing.... Narelle has said I have a few days till the next item is expected!
Righto, Gotto Go... better go and search what to make next!

January

Thanks Narelle for keeping us going with this.... it is fun and even though I didn't do much last year there were a few things ready

this is the little freebie stitchery I have made up for this month

I luckily had the little hanger in my cupboard which was just the right size.....

I had some drama's with thread bleeding so I had started another one... then I tea dyed the first one so I ended up with two...

this one went into a simple frame.

Righto, Gotto Go... thats a good start to the year... hope I can keep it up ....
