These have been sewn for while but we had good weather last week in England, so I was busy trying to sort out my allotment, after a very wet winter.
I'm not sure I like his nose/carrot now. I might redo that.
It looks like this snowman is missing his buttons, I think I'll wait till they're all sewn and then decide if tiny buttons would look alright. I've still to add beads etc but again I'm waiting to see them all.
We are allowed out to exercise, so my allotment work is mine at the moment.
Fortunately I have a green house at home and I'm raising lots of plants for the summer.
I hope everyone is safe and well.

My Big Gift Finish
I'm so happy to finally share my big finish.
I'm usually a one- or two-projects-at-a-time person
but this year, my first in an empty nest, I thought
it might be kind of fun to tackle a little more.
I started this quilt back in January but somehow
other projects kept pushing it to the side.
Isn't that what happens to these ahead-of-schedule
Christmas gifts?
Then I dragged my feet about some decisions
(to add or not to add applique, thread color etc).
And when I finally tackled the quilting, I ran into
thread/tension issues. Thankfully, I cleared those
up and learned a new thing or two along the way.
The current world events have been distracting by
themselves but now our two college boys are home.
I started wondering if I would get this thing done
in time for Christmas!
The actual quilt top went together in just
a few days--the Irish chain is easy pattern
and also one of my favorites.
The quilt that has been riddled with interruptions is
finally complete, ready to be put under the tree.
Nine months early!
I wasn't able to get a good full pic of it due
to the insane wind we're getting.
(The wind is really a blessing--it's drying the garden up
so that I might actually get something planted!)
Instead I took a few with it draped over our bed but here
is one coming off of the frame, minus the binding:
Happy quilting and gift-making!

A Block Finish
Bonus...some progress on A Merry Christmas Garden and a finished block.
This is block 3 of 6 so I'm half way!
Now more than ever my dear Elf friends, it is important for us to reach out and stay in touch. Even if you haven't managed progress or a finish for 1 Xmas, pop in and share what you have been working on this month.
Stay safe and keep creating 💗

I finished this little table mat that was a bonus project from last year's I Stitch Club Christmas BOM by Gail Pan. The stitching had been done, all it needed was wadding, backing & binding & it was done.
Happy Stitching,

In MaRcH
I actually finished 2 cushions...
One will stay in my home & the other would have been taken to Canada to my sister-in-laws in August... but I guess we won't be going in 2020 now.
Jolly the Elf will have a l-o-n-g wait until Xmas 2021...

Thanks Narelle...
I guess none of us will have any excuses for NOT finishing a few items for Christmas during this social distancing...
Please take care... xox

February Finishes
I had a week with no computer and then a lovely
illness (ahem), but I am finally here with my
February finishes.
I got the farm quilt completely quilted, labeled and bound.
I even considered wrapping it but I thought I'd better save
that for the holidays when I'm in the mood to wrap things.
The same goes for my Snow Love quilt:
completely quilted, labeled and bound.
We got some nice snow so I thought it made for great pics.
I even made a short tutorial on how to make this quilt.
I also finished these two items for my grandson
but with all the snow and his own hat being a
little worse for wear, I gave them to him already.
For his sister, I made the above snow book.
It was so cute, I actually made two but the
recipient for the second remains unknown.
The inside pages have snowmen that
need decorated. I thought this would
be a perfect "quiet book" for church.
I know this is way more than one item but as I've
mentioned, I have a lot more time in the sewing
room during the winter. This month gardening
begins so I'm sure I'll be down to one item for awhile.
That's it for me!
See you all at the end of March!

Crazy Quilted Snowman Ornament
My first Christmas finish this year is this crazy quilted snowman ornament that I had hoped to share in January.
To be honest, I was nervous about my ability to transform this crazy quilted circle into the ornament above.
I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.
This month, I also made a tiny bit of progress on the Winter/Christmas Crazy Quilt that I shared here way back in March of 2017. I will have more progress to share next month.
Happy Crafting!

My First Ever Post
I was so excited when I found this blog. Nothing like getting ready for next Christmas while the memories of the last one are still a little warm. My sister loves to buy different kits but doesn't always get around to making them. This year I am helping her out. She always needs items for her Church's Christmas Fair.
This is the first of two Advent Calendars.

February sewing
These little snowmen are just right for evening sewing. Here is number three.
I love this one, I'm not always successful with the facial details, squinty eyed snowmen are not so appealing!
Number four.
I'm looking forward to seeing how others have spent their time in February.
Happy sewing.

February Progress
Little by little, progress has been made. I've been stalling on the centre block and need to knuckle down but the outer pieces are complete and joined as far as they can be.
I'm aiming to have the whole block complete for March.

January Gift Finishes
These are my January finishes.
Not completely finished quilts, but they are
completely finished tops so they count, right? <wink>
One goal is to use up my precuts so I made this fast quilt.
Currently quilting; should be 100% done w/in a few days.
I always want to use up scraps and stash!
Irish Chain quilt for someone who loves green.
This lap-size quilt is a "gift" just for us.
Another precut used up.

I completed the first 14 of the Farmer's Wife Quilt blocks.

January Christmas sewing
Scraping in by a couple of days is my finish for January.
A decorative tea towel that was a bonus pattern from a Christmas BOM I did last year.
