Another Long Term Project

My husband keeps telling me he needs a new quilt. The last one I made for him is threadbare and well loved. So, when I discovered the Sun, Sand and Sea Block of the Month at Sew Incredibly Crazy, I decided to join the fun and make the quilt as a Christmas gift. (Hopefully in 2017, not 2018. We'll see.) Our family is full of Oregon State University fans, so the orange and black theme seemed fitting.

This is block 2. I still need to fill in the license plate, but have not decided what I want it to say. Until then, this block is done.

In April, I aim to spend at least 10 minutes a day on my Winter/Christmas Wall Quilt. It may be the only way I motivate myself to finish quilting it with snowflakes. I hope to have progress to show on it next month, as well as blocks 1 & 3 from the Sun, Sand and Sea Block of the Month.

Wishing you all a productive month in April.

Nice and Quick

Gotta love a quick project when the end of the month is around the corner. Another placemat/coaster set for the gift box ... I'm working on a set for all the girls in my family 😃

It's never too late to get a head start so pop into the workshop anytime and share with your fellow elves what Christmas goodies you've been working on.

March Christmas Item...

This month I finished off this wallhanging.  I have had the stitchery done and then found the perfect fabric for a border

( I went back to the shop but it had sold out - note to self - buy lots when you love it!!!)

I have also started a little banner of stitcheries..... these are two blocks towards it....

I've made this before and loved it - this time it will be for a gift

So there we go..... March is almost over - going so quick so it's great to get some Christmassy things done.  Thanks Narelle....

Winter/Christmas Crazy Quilt Progress

This month, I spent a couple of evenings quilting my Winter/Christmas Wall Quilt with embroidered snowflakes.

I did not get as far as I hoped, but I did have fun working with some of the lovely snowflake patterns my friend at Magpie's Mumblings shared here, here and here.

There is still a fair amount of beading to add to the snowflakes that have been embroidered.

This is the first time I have really worked on this project since sharing it last March. I hope to make more progress (and maybe finish it?) this March.

I love this project. The ladies that were in the round robin with me are so talented. And, I think the snowflakes make the border more fun. I am just so S-L-O-W stitching them.
