Very Beary February Finish

This month is a decoration-y item.

A from-a-long-time-ago pattern,
coloured in, stitched,
and made into a fabric canvas :)
Confession: It is only pinned presently.
I need to cut the batting to back the stitchery
before I tack it properly,
and this hasn't been a good week
for me to handle sharp objects ;)

Which is also why I am posting
at what seems like the last minute.
I was still hoping I would get a "safe" day ;)

What lovely finishes have been posted this month :)

See you again in (hopefully) 25 days :)

February finish

Little ornies finally done. A few days late but I made it as a February finish.

Happy stitching,

Absentee

My apologies dear fellow Elves for I have not been able to join you in our workshop this month. Those dreaded flu bugs found me and these unending heatwaves do nothing for my sewing mojo.
Sadly we said our goodbyes to a wonderful and dearly loved lady this week, our mother, mother-in-law and grandma, who is forever in our hearts.

I have enjoyed a visit to our workshop this morning to see the festive projects on display, all look very lovely and thank you for sharing your finishes. I always find great ideas and inspiration here and my "to do" list is ever growing. Thank you for your warm welcome to our new Elves and wishing everyone lots of  Happy Christmas Creating.

February Finish

My project for February was this little cross stitch pillow.

My item this month is a stocking for my GD#2.
This stocking will hang in my home every Christmas alongside all the others I've made since my children were babies.
Thanks Narelle for hosting us all once again...

February Project

This is my first finished project to post! I was part of the Nuts About ... blog hop, and this is what I made, which will be going to someone at Christmas. You can see the post HERE. Here's the important part, though ... the finished product!

Deets: It's a 16" pillow cover, finished with an envelope back closure. The top is made from scraps of other projects. All three fabrics were completely used up, except for a small bit of the pink Civil War floral I used for the heart. See ya next month!

February finish

Hi all.  This is my finished item for February.
I know I am a little early for posting but we are heading off on our five month travels in one week so I had to get this finished before we left.
This project has been around in my PiP box (Projects-in-Progress) for quite some time so joining the Elves gave me motivation to get it finished. It is called "Subversive Santa" and is a design by a Victorian designer at Smee Designs. The original is a redwork project using mainly backstitch - I've just given it my own personal touch by using a variety of stitches and adding a few embellishments. The sashing and border fabric is 'Season's Greeting' by Fabri-Quilt.

I did finish a project in January - which was another of those PiPs in the Dreaded Drawer 3 (see my blog for more detail on that story - www.1cr8ivMiss.blogspot.com.au ). The four bears are candlewicked and I just added a narrow binding and stitched them to a pillowcase. This will go with the quilt I made for my great-niece last Christmas.

So two projects finished - thank you Elves for giving me the motivation to finish these PiPs.
Happy stitching, NannaRay

Hi All

Hi there.  I'm another newbie this year. My name is Janice and I blog over at Jannimary.  I'm really looking forward to being a part of this group, as last year I made quite a few Christmas items during the year, which was fun.

I'm rather late in posting my January finishes, but, as they say, better late than never.

My first project was a necessity as we bought a new Christmas Tree.  It didn't come with a box or anything so I made a storage bag for it.

My other finishes were four ham bags, made from some pre-printed panels I bought on clearance a couple of years ago.  Not a big job, but one I'm glad to have finished.  Next year I won't have to wrap the ham in a tea towel.

I don't think there will be any finishes for February, as we are about to head off on happy holidays for a couple of weeks.  I'll just have to make up for lost time when we get back home.

Another newbie

Hi everyone!  My name is Toni, and I'm A Little Yarn on the Side on the side links.  I meant to post yesterday, but got too distracted by all the lovely projects everyone was posting.

My January Christmas project is a tablerunner:
and for February, some Christmas ornaments in my college fabric:

Another Happy Elf

Hello fellow Elves. How wonderful to be able to join you all. Thank you Narelle for inviting me to participate (especially after my 'No-reply' issue).  I look forward to sharing my projects with you.

No Reply Comments

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening lovely Elves ... I am the first to admit that I'm only technology savvy until I hit a hurdle. So when it comes to your comments that come through as noreply-comment, I'm afraid I'm at a loss. If this happens as it has with a few new Elves, I will post a request here to send me a separate email so that I can in turn send you your invitation to participate on this blog. I would hate for anyone to think they've been ignored and not welcome in our lovely little workshop.

Chookyblue has a great page on her blog for "How to...blog bits" where you can find help on several topics around blogging. You can click on the link HERE.

If Diana and Sue could please send a separate email to me at pinsandwhiskers(at)gmail(dot)com I will send your invitation to participate on the blog. Once accepted you will be able to start posting. Thank you for your understanding as this seems the easiest way for me.

Also I will be updating the list of participating Elves for 2016 on the sidebar over the weekend (internet permitting - it doesn't like our weather). If you don't see your blog link in the next few days, please let me know.

It's great to see everyone back in the workshop getting their goodies together for a stress free Christmas and a big welcome to our new Elf friends.

Happy Christmas Sewing

A Newbie....

Hi, my name is Sandy and I'm glad to be joining the group.

It seems like I'm working on Christmas items all year long, and still are finishing up on Christmas Eve, so, by  using this group, maybe all the projects will be due in a timely manner.

This is the current project.  One of my granddaughters unexpectedly gave me a late present so as soon as this is finished, it will be delivered to her.  Either very late or EXTREMLY early.  LOL

Hopefully, the next projects will actually be presents for 2016.

God bless and hope all of you have a great evening.

Hello again!

Hi! It's been a while since I've posted here but I am hopeful that I'll be regular again throughout this year - we'll see!!! (And here I am a few days late already!)
My Christmas item for this month is this wall hanging —
It's a Gail Pan design from one of her Christmas books, cant quite remember which one just now. More details *here* on my blog.

Happy Christmas sewing!!

A newbie to the group

Hi girls.... I'm Helen..... usually known as Helbel.....
Thanks for letting me join in the fun.

The only thing I have to show for January is my preparation for a Christmas wall hanging but I intend to get on with the stitching ASAP....
I have drawn all the stitching pattern and put all the applique on every block.
It did take ages to organise but all ready to go now.

I look forward to seeing all the Christmas projects.
