Drawstring bag

On the last day of February I have a Christmas item finished. This will be used for keeping the little cake tins for gingerbread. I think this is better that a plastic bag.
I want to say thank you to all who left a comment last month! I appreciate it!
Now to think of which Christmas item to make for March. I know the month will be quite busy for me.
                                     Have a wonderful weekend!

February Finishes

Happy Stitching,

Phew.....

I can promise I finished this last month.... it is now March and I am seeing if I can back schedule this post!!!! If I can I know it will be a useful skill for my muddled brain that is having a hard time keeping up with the pace of time!!!

This is a stitchery I did sometime ago..... about a year or more..... and made it up this week using some lovely happy fabrics ...

This is a design by Gail Pan from her book Simply Christmas

Righto, Gotto Go.... March is here .. that means Autumn for us in Aus...

Crazy Quilted Pillow Cover

The Christmas pillow cover I made in January (using a tutorial from Lemon Tree Creations) was a test run to see if the pattern might work to make a pillow cover with this gorgeous crazy quilted 12-inch block.

I cross-stitched the rose on black fabric using a chart in the Leisure Arts pamphlet, "A Regal Rose and Distinctive Floral Alphabet" and pieced the block for a novice round robin with the Crazy Quilting International Yahoo! Group. The round robin began in July of 2012 and ended in January of 2013. The gorgeous embellishments were created by Shannon C., Crystal S., Hazel T. and Mardeen L. Their work is so gorgeous, it was hard to believe it was a novice round robin. The ladies all knew this would be a gift and they certainly made it special.

Until now, I have been too nervous to finish the block into the gift I planned for it to be. Now it is ready to be wrapped up and given away this Christmas. (I wish you could all see the lovely details in person...)

My Table Runners and Bowls

I have been enjoying making these table runners. I think I will make some for the trade table at Kilmore Quilters. They are quick and so easy.

Then I have done some little fabric bowls too

Cherry Christmas Cushion

February sees the finish
of a Christmassy cushion cover
 The blocks were already made,
so it was only the job of joining, assembling
and photographing it artistically stuck in a shrub :)

Wishing everyone a cheery March :)
Sisbabe

Hello everybody!

I have not vanished from the face of the earth but I simply cannot do much of anything at the moment. I injured my left wrist somehow (lately I seem to have developed a tendency to fall, mostly over cables, buckets and cat toys) and it protests loudly whenever I attempt something crafty. So no contribution from me again this month. :-(

A very big thank you for the lovely fabric I won in last year's draw. It is beautiful and I will use it for something special.

One Stitch At A Time

Greetings from our workshop. Lovely to see everyone who was busy creating last month ... I'm looking forward to viewing all the lovely makes this time round.

Things are a little slow in my work space. Just don't seem to be able to get into any sort of routine lately but stitch by stitch I'm adding to my 'Merry Christmas Garden' - Block 2. I have all the pieces prepared for the large centre block and then it's onto the sewing machine to piece it together.

Ooops!  Forgot about this finish back at the start of the month.  I had it almost done in January ... just needed the stars quilted in the corners and binding stitched down.

Off to put the kettle on ... Merry Christmas Sewing

Scarf

My February item is a Xmas gift for a special friend.
It's now safely packed into "the box" waiting until December.
Thanks again Narelle... xox

Christmas Pillow Cover

I am so excited to join 1 Xmas Item a Month this year.
It was so much fun seeing all of the lovely finishes in 2014.

This month, I made my first Christmas pillow cover for a 12-inch pillow form
by slightly modifying the tutorial at Lemon Tree Creations.
I fell in love with this "Christmas Spirit" fabric by Geoff Allen
for Springs Creative Products Group.
The pillow will look right at home on our couch in December!
